Inviting friends over and chatting for hours and enjoying the conversation and each other’s company. Spending time outside having a tea party or watering my plants that are (actually) growing. The small moments of joy can be such wonderful memories. This has by far been the most challenging time I have faced, along with much grief, trauma and loss in many forms.

This included around 15 procedures under anaesthetic and a life-threatening bone marrow transplant along with feeding intravenously and so many medications and intrusive blood tests I wish I could forget. Cosette is now almost three years old.Īt one point two nights in the hospital seemed like the longest time, then two weeks, followed by two months and then a crazy roster system that went on for another 10 months. I can speak from experience as the dreams I had hoped for our family were shattered when my little girl needed a lumbar puncture at just three weeks old and went on to spend over half her life in hospital. When life seems overwhelming, it is important to bring thoughts back to simple changes we can put in place right away. I am a believer in goals, along with writing them down with an understanding that circumstances can change our world upside down. There are endless posts, articles, e-books and about setting goals and making big things happen in our lives.
